What's new in BUZ

This page lists the improvements and fixes we’ve made to BUZ, newest first. It’s updated as we release new changes.

Everything here is already live in your BUZ — there’s nothing to download, nothing to install and no upgrade to schedule. If something you reported is listed below, the fix is already in.

Upload files to appointment questions: Questions that ask for a file now let you upload one or more files when you book an appointment or edit a lead, and the files are saved with the lead’s attachments.
Safer attachments: Files attached to a lead or a customer must now be a JPG, PNG, WebP or PDF, and other file types are turned away.

Fixed

Setting up multi-factor authentication: When your organisation requires multi-factor authentication, the setup screen now offers every method — authenticator app, passkey or mobile number — and shows a Continue button once it is switched on.
Reports in the BUZ assistant: Asking the assistant for a leads analysis or sales by rep now returns the report instead of an error.

Emails bouncing at some mail providers: Order and marketing emails built from long templates could be turned away by stricter mail providers such as Hotmail. BUZ now formats every email to the email standard before sending it, and how it looks to your customer is unchanged.

Customer file attachments: Attaching files to a customer record works again, each customer now keeps their own files, and if the list cannot load BUZ tells you instead of showing it as empty.
Dashboard sales figures: The Monthly Sales graph, quotes chart and pending-quotes count no longer get stuck showing old figures, and the Refresh button now updates all three.

Emails that could not be built: If a document or merge field cannot be fetched in time, the email now stops and tells you why, instead of going out with missing attachments or raw [CustomerName] placeholder text. A spinner shows while it works.

Product Options: The Product Options screen now finishes loading, shows a progress bar while it does, and offers a Try again button if it cannot.

Install address optional: Your organisation can now choose whether a lead needs a full install address, so a lead that names only a state can still be saved.
More merge fields in emails: Seven more merge fields — including check-measure date, time and notes, installation time needed and dispatch notes — can now be inserted in the email composer.

Fixed

Invitation emails: Accepting an emailed invitation no longer shows an error page, and Resend Invite now works for people who have not logged in yet.
Order emails: Documents already ticked when the email screen opens are attached, a large document no longer breaks the send, and the 10 MB attachment limit counts documents by their real size.
CRM board: Board columns keep a minimum width and the board scrolls sideways, with the sales rep’s name pinned to the left.
Maps links: “Take me there” links in the CRM now send Google Maps the customer’s address rather than map coordinates.

Calendar sync to a shared mailbox: A rep calendar can now be synced into a shared mailbox, so the team can see their bookings without opening their diary.
Clearer calendar names: Synced calendars are named BUZ - Company - Rep, so they are easy to tell apart.
Jump to a rep day: Selecting a day header on the calendar takes you straight to that rep day view.
Phone search ignores formatting: Searching a phone number in a grid now matches on the digits, so brackets, spaces and dashes no longer matter.
BUZ Network supplier directory: A new directory for finding and connecting with suppliers on the BUZ Network.
Sales Order Options report feed: A new OData feed with one row per line option, for reporting on the options chosen on an order.
BUZ assistant picks your company by name: If you can reach more than one company, the assistant now lists them by name and asks which one, instead of asking for an id.

Fixed

Downloads: Report and settings downloads could fail because the file link was released before your browser had finished reading it.
Update message: During an update BUZ said you had been signed out. It now says the connection ended and asks you to reload.
Calendars that send nothing: A calendar set up to send nothing now says so, instead of looking like it is working.
Emails and leads: An incoming email keeps its link to the lead when the sender address also matches a customer.
Midnight appointments: A midnight time is treated as no time set, rather than as a booking at midnight.
Edit panels: CRM edit panels now sit flush against the side of the screen like drawers, instead of floating.
Large report feeds: OData results now page at your organisation row cap instead of being cut off.

Calendar view: The calendar gains a full-day grid, month cards and a new toolbar.
Company on appointments: Appointments now show the company after the contact name.
Tidier comparison booking: Individual comparison reps are hidden while you are booking.

Fixed

Appointment drafts: Only a draft the booker actually started is kept, so half-opened appointments no longer linger.
New appointment defaults: Defaults on a new appointment are no longer lost while the lookup lists are still loading.
Survey questions: A booking only asks for the survey answers it actually needs.
SMS messages: An SMS now sends its message text instead of arriving empty.
Today in the CRM: Today is worked out from your own clock rather than the server UTC clock.
Report dates: Lead Results creation dates are true instants again, and the remaining report feeds now apply timezone offsets correctly.

Order dates: New orders took their date from the server’s clock, so an order raised late in the day could come out dated yesterday. Orders are now dated in your own timezone.
Grid pricing: Pricing scripts were not being told which price and cost grid they belonged to, so grid-based prices could come out wrong. They now resolve correctly.
Report date windows: Date filters on the OData report feeds now send real timezone offsets, so a date range picks up the right records.

Pricing in the BUZ assistant: You can now look up price grids, cost grids and item prices through the BUZ assistant.
Price edits from the assistant: Prices can be updated through the assistant as well, behind a two-step confirmation so nothing changes by accident.

Fixed

Order pricing fallback: Orders that relied on the default price grid stopped falling back to it, which could leave a line unpriced. The fallback is working again.
Finding items in the assistant: Searching for an inventory item by its code returned nothing, and price filters were rejected. Both now work.
Order figures in the assistant: Long reports were cut short without saying so, replies were larger than they needed to be, and some orders came back with a zero total. All three are fixed.
Job stages: Moving a job to its next stage could report success while nothing had actually been saved. It now saves properly, or tells you it could not.

Inventory groups on the lead form: Sales reps opening a CRM lead form saw an empty Inventory Group list, with nothing on screen explaining why. The list now loads for reps without needing extra settings access.

Marketing questions when booking: A question marked as required now has to be answered, and leaving one blank no longer leaves a placeholder showing in the email that goes out.
Marketing question answers: An answer now has to be one of the answers the question offers, so a value that is not on the list is no longer accepted.
Your sending email address: On Organisation → Mail From Settings, Send Verification Email and Get Domain Validation Token now save the address or domain you typed first — so it is still there when you come back to the page.

Customer portal: People opening your customer portal now get a short explanation of what BUZ is, and you can switch it off for your organisation.
Synced appointments: A synced appointment is laid out so the important details can be read at a glance.

Fixed

Job Tracking by Branch: Opening a group no longer produces an error.
Booking an appointment: Required option answers are now enforced, and an appointment whose finish time falls before its start is no longer saved.
Addresses on appointments: A partly-entered address is now shown rather than dropped, and a back-to-front appointment time is refused.

Connecting a calendar: You are now shown an account chooser when connecting a calendar, so you can pick the right mailbox.

Fixed

Calendar connections: BUZ now adopts your existing BUZ calendar instead of failing while trying to recreate it, and a connection left pointing at the wrong mailbox can be repaired.
Synced appointments: A synced appointment now shows its address, and its notes display properly.
Settings screens: Discount Matrix and Default Templates open again.

Fixed

Sign-up pricing wording: The text above the card fields no longer states a charge that a promotion may waive — it explains the card is being validated.
New account emails: The “set your password and sign in” email for a brand-new account now sends reliably, including when the email address contains unusual characters.

Invitations for people who already have a BUZ login: Accepting an invitation now takes you to a page built for existing logins, instead of asking you to create a second account.

Fixed

Document templates: Templates now save with their customer groups, and new templates can be created.
Portal invitations: Invitation emails include your business name again instead of leaving it blank.
Reconnecting in dark mode: If your connection drops, the “rejoining” message now matches the BUZ theme instead of showing a plain white card.
Sign-up confirmation: The confirmation pop-up now states the pro-rata amount you will be charged.

Signing out: Signing out now signs you out of both the classic and the new BUZ, so you can no longer be left logged in as two different users.
Expired sessions: An expired session now takes you to the sign-in page instead of a blank screen.
Bulk settings imports: Imports accept either write permission, so they no longer fail for people who should be allowed to run them.
Settings saves: Two settings screens no longer lose data when you save.

Customer warnings on appointments: A customer’s warning message and colour now show on the appointment screens, and you can set the colour when you edit the customer.
Booking guardrails: Booking an appointment now checks the rep’s daily limit, confirms before saving, and picks up the billing contact.
Sensible defaults: New leads and customers fall back to your usual customer group and discount group, and a blank branch is filled in for you.
Email composer: The new email composer’s fixes and tidier form layout are now live.

Fixed

Appointment clashes: Clash warnings are accurate — cancelled appointments no longer count — and a finish time before the start time is blocked.
Leads: A lead keeps its own branch, and the customer group is read-only when the lead is linked to a customer.
Saving customers, contacts and suppliers: Editing one field no longer blanks the fields you left alone.
Calendar: Appointment tiles fill the whole booked time, the quick-info pop-up is readable in dark mode, and rep suggestions no longer overwrite your saved calendar filter.
Order reps: The rep list is limited to the reps you are allowed to assign, and rep names are shown rather than codes.
Billing address: For an existing customer, the appointment screen shows the billing address read-only instead of offering fields it cannot save.
Account screen: Timeline dates, the New lead button on the calendar and contact numbers all behave correctly now.
Connecting a calendar: If connecting Google or Microsoft fails, BUZ explains why instead of showing the provider’s raw error code.

Lead export and import: Exporting leads and importing them back no longer loses data.

Roomier grid editing: The grid matrix editor opens in a drawer instead of inline.

Settings data loss: Three settings screens no longer discard your changes when you save, and Default Templates loads its data.
Surcharges: The payment-method surcharge code shows in the list, not only when you open the record.
Descriptions and notes: Subject, Description and Notes stay separate on the lead pop-up, the print schedule, lead creation and lead export.
Email delivery: Bounced emails are recorded properly, and delivery is no longer reported as successful when it was not.
Appointment reminders: Appointment reminders are no longer sent twice.
Connecting a Google calendar: Saving Google calendar credentials no longer fails.
Settings and installer screens: A batch of parity fixes for the settings and installer screens went live together.

Quick activity logging: Log a call, note or email inline from the customer screen without opening a dialog.
Customer export: Choose billing contacts, all contacts or both, and include inactive customers.

Fixed

Status emails: Rep, branch and installation details fill in correctly, and templates no longer send raw placeholder text.
Lead status: A new lead saves the status shown on the form.
Contacts: Contacts not marked as an install or billing contact appear in the customer’s contact list again.
Account codes: Customer and supplier codes are saved in upper case, however they were typed.
Accounting links: Editing a General Ledger account no longer clears its accounting links, and duplicate codes are rejected.
Surcharges: The payment-method surcharge now saves.
Templates: Field gaps on the Document and Email template screens are filled.
Dark mode polish: Settings pages now pick up the correct dark-mode colours, and text stays readable on the status and banner colours you choose yourself.

Fixed

The leads list no longer hid your newest leads.

Faster dashboard sales figures — a behind-the-scenes performance improvement to how monthly sales metrics are calculated.

Fixed

CRM calendar: leads saved without an appointment time now show up as a red “NO TIME” card (in the all-day row) instead of disappearing. This fixes both newly-saved untimed leads and older leads created in the classic calendar.
Email templates: saving a template with one or more Customer Groups selected no longer errors, and the filter-by-type control no longer overlaps its label.

Passkey sign-in expanded — you can now enrol more than one passkey, each shown with a friendly name (Touch ID, Windows Hello, and so on), and remove them from your security settings.
Sign-in security is now referred to as multi-factor authentication (MFA) across the login and security screens (previously “two-factor authentication / 2FA”).

Create Lead now guides you with required fields and smart defaults, so leads are captured correctly.
Leads: send calendar (.ics) invites by email and attach files directly to a lead.

Faster loading when working across multiple companies (behind-the-scenes performance improvement).

Fixed

Document templates no longer error when saving, and the template form is easier to use (optional type, Word/Excel file filters, clearable type field).

Email templates: the Job Sheet (Excel/PDF) attachment options are back in the template editor.
Sign-up form that wasn’t submitting in some cases now works reliably.
Users page no longer fails to load for staff who don’t have access to every related list.
Staff without admin rights can now see standard lists (sales reps, branches, etc.) where they previously got an error.
Dashboard: sales figures now display in the correct format, and the “Sales this month” tile only appears where it’s enabled.

Fixed

Being idle (for example overnight) could trap you in a login loop — fixed.
Opening BUZ in a second browser tab no longer logs you out of the first.
After logging in, you’re now returned to the page you were trying to reach.
Settings pages: the “Add” button no longer errors, required fields are enforced, and user-invite emails now send correctly.
You can no longer accidentally create a user without a group.
Fixed inventory-related features that relied on a back-end service setting.

Fixed

Xero: now posts to the Xero organisation you selected (not the first one on the list); mapping-editor dropdowns and paging fixed.
MYOB “Connect” no longer returns an error.
Menus and links now support Ctrl/middle-click to open in a new tab, and no longer navigate twice.
Mobile navigation: the menu drawer now registers taps correctly and no longer drops navigation.

BUZ v6 went live — the new BUZ platform is now in production. Here’s what that means for you:

New-look Login — a fresh, modern sign-in screen.
New-look MyBUZ — a redesigned MyBUZ home.
New-look Dashboard — a refreshed dashboard with a cleaner layout.
New Settings area — a rebuilt settings experience (still a work in progress — more is being added).

Fixed

Fixed a sign-up error some new customers hit (the form returned an error on submit).
Leads: opening a lead now shows its marketing answers and line items.
Leads can no longer be saved without an appointment date or a customer name.
Embedded legacy screens: the loading spinner now clears after a file download, and these screens authenticate correctly.
