OData reporting on a Mac (macOS)

Excel for Mac can connect to your BUZ OData feed much like the Windows version. The exact steps depend on your Excel version. For background, see What is OData?.

Office 365 Excel (version 16.70 and later)

  1. Open a blank workbook.

  2. Go to Data → Get Data (Power Query).

  3. In the pop-up, choose OData.

  4. Enter your feed URL, replacing the placeholder with your organisation code:

    https://api.buzmanager.com/reports/YOUR-ORGANISATION-CODE

  5. Set the connection credentials to Basic and enter your BUZ username and password.

  6. Once connected, choose your report and edit the query — follow the Excel reporting using OData guide from the “Add a date/time filter” step onwards.

Earlier versions of Excel for Mac

Some older versions of Excel for Mac can’t build a new OData query, but they can open and refresh a workbook that was created in Excel for Windows. You just need to point the connection at your BUZ credentials.

  1. Open the spreadsheet and click Enable Content if prompted.

  2. Go to the Data tab and choose Get Data → Data Source Settings.

  3. Select the BUZ API source and click Clear Permissions, then Delete. Repeat for every query in the workbook.

  4. Click Refresh.

  5. When prompted, open the Authentication kind drop-down and choose Basic.

  6. Enter your BUZ username and password and click Connect.

  7. If it works, you’ll see Running background query while the data loads.
