Board & Grid

The Jobs Board showing job cards in five status lanes — To Make, Cutting, Sewing, Assembly and Ready to dispatch — with the view toolbar and filter row above.

Figure 1 — the Board with the Job Tracking preset applied. (1) View sets lanes and grouping in one step. (2) Lanes by decides what each column represents. (3) A job card — drag it to the next lane to move the job along. (4) The Board / Grid tabs show the same jobs two ways.

The View dropdown sets the board up for a job in one click:

Preset Sets the board to
Job Tracking Production — lanes are your job statuses
Dispatch Delivery and install — lanes are dispatch statuses
Custom Whatever you configure by hand below

Changing Lanes by or Group by yourself switches you to Custom automatically.

  • Lanes by — what each column represents: Job Status, Dispatch Status, Job Track, Run, or Job Process.
  • Group by — split the board into horizontal bands: No grouping, Job Track, or Run. Grouping by Run is how most dispatch managers read the week.
  • Lanes — a tick-list of which lanes to show. You usually have more statuses than belong on a board; untick the ones you don’t watch. Show all brings them back.

Drag a card into the next lane to change its status. What changes depends on Lanes by — on a Job Status board you’re setting the job status; on a Dispatch Status board you’re setting the dispatch status.

Switch to Grid for the same jobs as a list you can sort and export. Columns:

Column What it shows
Scheduled The scheduled date
Job / Item The job, and the individual line item when viewing at line grain
Customer Who it’s for
Order ref Your order reference
Suburb / Branch Where it’s going, and which branch owns it
Run The installer or delivery run
Check measure Whether check measure is done
Job Status / Dispatch / Job Track Current position in each workflow
Progress How far through the job is

Sort by clicking a column heading.

These three act on the current view — they honour your filters and date window, so filter first, then act.

  1. Print — print or download documents for every job in view. Choose which documents to include.
  2. Email — email documents for the jobs in view; choose what to attach.
  3. Export — export the current rows to a file.

Scan opens the QR scanner for updating a job from a printed sheet or label — scan the code and BUZ takes you straight to that job. Handy on a workshop tablet or phone.
