Words & terms
Lead — A possible new job; a customer who’s interested. Booking an appointment creates a lead.
Appointment — A booked visit at a set day and time between a customer and a sales rep.
Sales rep — The person who visits the customer to measure, quote or sell.
Installer — The person who fits or delivers the finished product.
Branch — One of your business’s locations or offices.
Customer Group — A category of customer, such as Retail or Trade.
Status — The stage a job is at — e.g. New, Booked, Quoted, Won, Lost. Shown by the colour bar.
Ghost — The red dashed preview block of an appointment you’re creating but haven’t saved yet.
Draft — A half-finished appointment BUZ saves for you automatically so nothing is lost.
The rail — The side panel on the calendar with the mini-month and show/hide tick-boxes.
Overlap / Split — Two ways to show the day: everyone’s jobs together (Overlap) or one column per rep (Split).
Day note — A gold 📌 reminder pinned to a whole day, not a set time.
Private appointment — Personal or blocked-out time (🔒) so no customer gets booked into it.
Dispatch / run — An installer’s delivery or install trip. “Sequencing” means putting the stops in the best order.
My Day — The phone-friendly screen showing a rep just their own jobs for a day.
Next Up — The big card in My Day highlighting your very next appointment.
Drag and drop — Press and hold something with the mouse, move it, and let go — used to reschedule cards.
Customer 360 — The full record of one customer, all their history in one place.
