Jobs & scheduling overview

Workflows is where an order becomes work: what’s being made, what stage it’s at, who’s installing it and when. It has two sides, Job tracking and Dispatch, and you open each from the top menu. Each side shows its own jobs, by its own dates, with its own statuses.

What each tab answers:

On the Job tracking side, the top row also has Factory Screen, a wallboard for a TV in the factory. When finished jobs are waiting to be booked, a link there shows how many and takes you to Dispatch.

Which date counts

A job has two dates: when it’s made (its production date) and when it goes out (its dispatch date). Each side uses its own:

• Job tracking shows jobs by production date.
• Dispatch shows jobs by dispatch date.

There’s no setting to change. If a job seems to be missing, it’s usually booked for a date outside the one you’re looking at. Search for it instead: search looks at every date.

Not booked yet?

A job without a dispatch date isn’t on the Dispatch board. You’ll find it in the To book tray on Schedule.

The date and filter row

Board, Grid, Capacity and Schedule share one row at the top:

• Day, Week and Month, with the arrows and Today to move through time.
• Filters, which opens a panel:
  • From and To, for a date range of your own
  • Job Track, Job Process and Job Status (on Job tracking), or Dispatch status, Dispatch type and Run (on Dispatch)
  • Branch and Customer group
  • Group lanes by and Columns, for the Board (see Board & Grid)

The filters are multi-select: tick several statuses to see them together. Each filter you set shows as a chip under the row. Close a chip to remove it, or use Clear to remove them all.

With Day, Week or Month, the screens open on the current one. A From and To range you set yourself is kept, and shared by Board, Grid and Capacity, until it’s in the past; then the screens go back to the current week.

Up to 3 months at a time

Board, Grid, Schedule and Capacity show up to 3 months at once. A wider From and To shows a message asking for a shorter range. To find an older or later job, search for it instead.

The Calendar and Map have their own day navigation and don’t use this row.

Find a job

Type an order number, customer name or order reference into the search box on the Board or Grid, then press Enter. Search ignores the date range and finds the job on any date, showing the newest 200 matching orders. Clear the search box to go back to your dates.

Where the lists come from

The lanes, statuses and types you see are the ones you set up in Settings. If something’s missing or named oddly, that’s where to fix it:

• Installation types — your dispatch types
• Installation statuses — your dispatch statuses

Installers and their working days come from Installers.
